Dive Bar

Following my last post on the dark-almost-black nail polishes, I'll be sharing you Essie's Dive Bar today!

Before I bought this nail polish, this is a colour that I would never buy (way out of my comfort zone) but I decided to give it a try anyway. AND I LOVE IT. Such a beautiful dark emerald green base and shimmer. I used ONE coat in these pictures. YUP another OCW!!

Can never have enough indigo nail polishes

Hey everyone! Today's #NOTD is really exciting for me because it's one of my first and favourite ZOYA nail polishes and it is beyond gorgeous!!

This is ONE coat, guys!! Amazing formula - it's the kind of dark nail polish that you can just slap on 1 coat, put a top coat and you're out the door.

In real life, you can tell that this is a really dark dark indigo/blue-ish colour but I was worried that it wouldn't translate the same in photos (as with all dark-almost-black colours). It actually turned out really well so that's a relief!

My First Ever Essie Nail Polish!

Hi everyone! Hope you all are having a great day! The nail polish that I'll be sharing with you guys today is Essie Absolutely Shore. This polish is a sentimental piece to me (kinda?) because it is one of the first 2 Essie nail polishes that I bought! The other nail polish is Borrowed and Blue, which will be in an upcoming post! :)

I bought this polish a long time ago I can't even remember. This is from their Summer 2011 collection so I probably bought it around that time too..... which is almost 5 years ago hahaha. I guess it's also around that period where I was seriously into collecting proper good quality nail polishes.

Anyway, I bought this nail polish partly because the mint green trend was HUGE back then and I personally love mint green too which justified my purchase hahaha.

4 coats w/o top coat

As much as this is a beautiful pale mint green, the formula though... is h o r r e n d o u s. This swatch took me 4 coats to get it opaque and even so, you can tell from the photo that the surface is quite uneven because it is thick in some areas.

Ugh... Don't you just hate it when this happens? -_-
And yup, before I could even take more photos, this happened.

Tiffany Blue??

Hey everyone!! Hope you all are having a lovely day/week so far! I have with me Essie Blossom Dandy from their Spring 2015 collection to share with you guys :)

2 coats w/o top coat

Apparently, this colour is pretty close to being a Tiffany Blue. I can't vouch for that since I don't own any jewellery from Tiffany to compare it with the box hahaha. The formula is great and very easy to work with. It takes 2 coats to reach full opacity.

Technically, this isn't a winter-ish colour but I wear any colour on my nails regardless of the seasons hahaha. Anyway, here in Singapore, it's summer 24/7 so seasons really isn't a big factor for me.

Current obsession!!! + Comparison Swatches

Hi everyone! Hope you all are doing well! :) Today's post will be about my current favouriteeeeee nail polish and by favourite, I mean painting my nails with this colour for more than 1 month straight. Now that says a lot about this nail polish because I used to change up my nail colour every 3-4 days (depending) since I have quite a collection and I wanted to rotate my nail polishes.

This is OPI's My Very First Knockwurst from the 2012 Germany collection and it's such a beautiful light blush-toned nude. The formula is really good and it takes 2 (or 3 depending on your application) coats to reach full opacity. I think I've found the perfect neutral polish that is flattering against my skin tone :)

Fun fact: I actually first fell in love with this colour when I saw Kylie Jenner's Instagram photo (shown below) so I went on a mission to hunt down the nail polish that she used. But I couldn't find any info on it which sort of inspired me to do this post to share with you guys what I've found. I feel like this OPI colour is the closest to the one on her nails (based on the pic).

Since I love this blush-toned nude colour soooo much, I wondered if there are any dupes for it in other nail polish brand. You would think that there are a ton of dupes (amongst mainstream brands) out there for such a simple colour but I actually had a tough time searching for dupes tbh.

Left to right: Essie Ladylike, Essie Go Go Geisha, Zoya Kennedy, OPI MVFK
From this angle and lighting, it almost looks like the colour on my index to ring fingers is from the same nail polish.

Left to right: OPI MVFK, Zoya Kennedy, Essie Go Go Geisha, Essie Ladylike

Hopefully from this other angle and lighting, you can tell that Zoya Kennedy is more of pale lavender-tone nude and Essie GGG has more of the lavender tone and slightly darker than Zoya Kennedy. I threw in Essie Ladylike (just for fun) even though I know it's not even close the other 3 but this is also one of my favourite go-to neutral nail colour.

Overall, I would say that Zoya Kennedy is the most similar to OPI MVFK (not a dupe though imo) but I would still pick OPI MVFK over anything. I've already bought myself a backup of it hahaha.

Hope you've enjoyed viewing this post! xx

(P.s. Please excuse my index nail for how short it is hahaha. It took me 2 months to grow out my nails to the length that I want but as my winter break was approaching, the free edge of my index nail decided to tear at the side (what perfect timing -_-). So I had no choice but to snip it off /cries/

First Post!

Hi everybody! Welcome to my blog, where I'll be sharing with you all things nail-related! :) Creating my own nail blog has been in my bucket list for a really long time because I've always been very passionate and interested in nail polishes, nail art, etc. However, due to things like school commitments, I didn't have much spare time; but since it's currently my winter break, I decided that I'll finally focus on the things that I enjoy/love doing :)

I'll kick-start this blog with a #NOTD!

This is OPI Eurso Euro from the Spring 2013 collection. Not gonna lie, I actually bought this partly because of KathleenLights hahaha. She mentioned this in one of her favourites videos and I loveeeee royal/navy blues and indigo so I had to get it! This colour leans more towards indigo imo. The formula is amazing - super opaque in 2 coats.
